Owning the Littorals is a series by BMR on the merits and capabilities of amphibious forces and what I believe their future should be. (Note the series is not yet complete, but further posts will be added to the list as they become available)
The series in Order:
Part One - An introduction provides my opinion on why amphibious capabilities are important for a modern blue water navy
Part Two - What's a Future Commando? outlines some of the changes made to the structure of 3 Commando Brigade to accomplish the aims of the Future Commando Force.
Part Three - My Planning Assumptions provides a brief overview of the assumptions I made during the research and writing of the series as well as giving the raw numbers I considered for my Order Of Battle.
Further Reading - Interesting stuff I found while researching the series:
Requirements for the UK's Amphibious Forces in the Future Operating Environment by Dr Sidharth Kaushal and Dr Jack Watling, for the Royal United Services Institute provides some background about A2AD bubbles and their effects on modern amphibious operations, and the need for both forward deployed more covert lighter forces with good local knowledge and a heavier force for strategic raiding and theatre opening.
Commando 21 - An Increase In Combat Power And Flexibility by Major HJ White, Royal Marines for the US Marine Corps School of Advanced Warfighting provides an excellent overview of the previous Commando 21 structure of 40 and 45 Commandos, and the general theory behind their rather unique ORBAT.
Novel Amphibious Craft RFI A request for information regarding a replacement for the Commando Raiding Craft (formerly known as the Offshore Raiding Craft) and the Landing Craft Vehicle Personnel.
